when we have a generation of journalists who are growing up in an age of re-tweets and likes, they do not know that criticism from a government is a badge of honour.
In this selfie journalism, if you don’t have the facts, it doesn’t matter. You just put a flag in the frame and you hide behind it.

Kuch patrakaro ne sabse jyada kiya sarmsaar hai
Sach ka balatkaar roz hota hai sare-aam TV par
Dekhne waale sab ke sab kama kal kahan samajhdaar hai

Chamcho ke haath mein desh, krantikaari kahin reh gayi peeche

Khud mar rahe hai bhookh mari se, Khet jinhone khoon se sinche

Galatfehmi paali hai tumne kichad raah sabkuch theek hai
Bas paisa aana chahiye, cheen lo beshak bheek hai

Jee lo jitna jeena hai duniya ka ant nazdeek hai

Chhodo jaane do, kuch aur baat karo
Hota rehta hai ye apne saath toh
Chhodo jaane do, humko soone do
Apna kaam karo bas paisa aane do

It is not that good journalism is dying, not at all. It is getting better, and it is getting bigger. It is that bad journalism makes a lot more noise than it used to do five years ago.
